The TSC Football Academy was set up to push gifted and talented players onto the next level. The aim of the academy is to coach players to reach their individual potential and to help them progress in the game.
The majority of TSC Football Academy coaches have experience working in professional club academy systems and have huge experience in player development.
Our coaching staff (see our staff here – link to coaching staff page) follow the TSC DNA coaching curriculum which helps all players develop their technical base and tactical understanding. We have a highly technical programme which helps create decision makers. The success of this programme has seen many players move into professional club academies from TSC
Players within our academy continue to play for their club teams. We are there to help their technical development and to help improve their performance in their club environment.
Occasionally our academy plays fixtures against professional clubs. So far, we have competed against Arsenal, Chelsea, West Ham, Crystal Palace, Brighton and Gillingham. Once a year our academy players are invited onto our European Tour to play in some of the biggest tournaments in Europe. Our tours have included: Barcelona (where we played against FC Barcelona) Holland and Belgium.
We now have 4 academy venues: Thanet, Faversham, Gillingham and Sittingbourne.
Thanet – Minster 3G, Ramsgate Under 6 to Under 13 age groups – Monday Evenings
Faversham – Abbey School 3G Under 6 to Under 12 age groups – Friday Evenings
Sittingbourne – Sittingbourne Community College Under 6 to Under 9 – Friday Evenings
Gillingham – Play Football Under 6 to Under 13 – Wednesday Evenings
In the TSC curriculum we split the age groups into 7 phases based on what format of the game they play, with each phase having its own focus.
Phase 1 – 3 to 6 year olds – Focus – Individual ball mastery
Phase 2 – Under 7 & 8 – Focus – Dominating 1v1 scenarios
Phase 3 – Under 9 & 10 – Focus – Dominating 1v1 and 2v2 scenarios
Phase 4 – Under 11 & 12 – Focus – Working in units
Phase 5 – Under 13 & 14 – Focus – Working as a team (tactical understanding)
Phase 6 – Under 15 & 16 – Focus – Working as a team (tactical implementation) Phase 7 – 17-21 Year olds – Focus – Playing to win
Each phase works the 8 key characteristics of a TSC player:

- Passing ability
- Out of Possession
- 1v1 defending
- Defend as part of a group
- How do we react when we win the ball?
- How do we react when we lose the ball?
