Partnership Announcement – Active Community Solutions

We are delighted to announce a partnership with Active Community Solutions CIC (ACS) which will see TSC increase our work in the community.

We have been working with ACS over the last 6 months, helping them with the running of their projects in the Thanet area and due to the success of this we have created an official partnership. ACS have the mission to improve peoples physical and mental wellbeing and have been doing this through a variety of projects.

This has included the Thanet Fit and Fed Project which we have been working alongside ACS and Changing Minds CIC to deliver healthy and nutritional food to local families, provide mental health support and to offer physical activity sessions. Due to COVID regulations most of this was done remotely with ACS and TSC providing deliveries direct to families as well as access to virtual sports sessions. Changing Minds who organised the programme, delivered mental health support and life coaching as part of the project.

ACS are also delivering their ‘Baller’ series across 12 different sites in Kent after Easter. These sessions are free and held on MUGA’s in selected towns to make sure that everyone has access to free sports and the pathways that it provides. These sessions are running in Thanet, Swale, Ashford, Canterbury, Whitstable and Gravesend, with a variety of these venues being staffed by the TSC coaches. As well as providing free sport there is also funding to train individuals that attend the sessions in leadership qualifications as well as coaching qualifications to provide progression routes into the industry. These young people will get the chance to work alongside TSC coaches in a voluntary capacity at their sessions to help build up their skillsets and pass their qualifications. This has all been made possible thanks to Kent Sport and Streetgames.

The TSC/ACS partnership are also holding an upcoming programme to help people into the coaching industry by offering training and employment opportunities.

This partnership will allow TSC to reach more people in the local community to help improve their physical and mental wellbeing, provide free sport as well as increase opportunities for local people to gain voluntary experience and to work within the coaching industry.

We have news of two more huge partnerships coming up which will again increase TSC’s provision across Kent and to provide more opportunities for more people through sport. Keep an eye on our social media channels for announcements in the next few weeks.
